Rural India lacks organized public health systems to address risk factors for non-communicable diseases. Bihar and Chhattisgarh – two disproportionately impoverished rural states in east-central India will be discussed. Learn about health risks in these areas and how policy makers and the public health system are addressing these challenges through innovative programs, including electronic links between rural medical providers and physicians.
